This quilt is made with 6" strips and 1.25" sashing. The wide border is 8" of dramatic peony fabric that pulls from all of the other colours in the quilt. It is a great way to feature a beautiful print that you don't want to cut into small pieces. Bedazzle is a blended geometric quilt with the illusion of being set on the point. We used batik for the back as well. We blended seven colours from dark to light to make the design really stand out. You will need to map your colours for this one. The narrow border is a contrast not found anywhere in the quilt. This avoids the issue of the center of the quilt running visually into the border. This quilt is fun . The center is composed completely of 2.5" strips. We love to work with Batiks, especially when cutting lots of angles. It works up quickly and the angle are not difficult to cut. Each square ends up at 8". Diagonal prints will not work well with this one! Working with the Black & Red batiks in dark and light values. This collection offers a lot of variety, sometimes I think too much variety. I am now stuck for borders. When it is light out tomorrow the answer may come! Finally the borders are done! It seems to take as long to do them as the centre of the quilt! So, this quilt has grown past Echo . It measures 88" square, which I think is a great size for those higher Queen Size beds. It will be backed with a coordinating batik

This is a series of 4 variations on a theme. They are all geometric in nature and use the same fabric collection.I just cut too much for one, two or three quilts! Echo consists of a 12" block with a 2" finished sashing. 56"by 70"with a 5 3/4" border of one of the black & red fabrics. This quilt is based on a Disney Panel.Digitizing hand and foot prints can work on any quilt! We have added colourful borders and made it larger. Finished size is approx.36" by 43". Once the quilt top is pieced, you can figure out the area for your quilt pattern repeat. I used a preplanned template and just changed to size to fit my quilt top.
