Joyquilts

About

Joyquilts has been based in Windsor Ontario since 1997.
The retail location is the latest expansion and we are really excited about it.

We have been involved with several charitable organizations over the years, donating quilts to organizations such as Willow (a support system for people with breast cancer), The Quilt (Stratford annual Auction), Parents for Children's Mental Health (A 104" square quilt that travels around Ontario with the President, helping to increase awareness of the problems confronting children with mental health issues and their families)and Children First (with Donations to their Annual Silent Auction).

We have also donated to STARS-kids.com, a childrens charity for shunted children, and has donated a quilt to the Windsor Satellite office of the Make a Wish Foundation of Canada as well as the Teen Health Centre and Family Respite Services.

Awards and Teaching

Joy has won many awards for her quilts, one of which was the Amy Hallman Schneider Purchase Award in 2001. This quilt became the property of The Waterloo County Quilt Festival and hangs in their permanant collection.
She has been teaching quilting since 1993, when she started at the local quilt shop, and as the family has moved across Ontario, has continued to enjoy the experience of teaching and expanding her quilting knowlege and fabric collection. She continues to do "Trunk Shows" and workshops whenever the occassion arises.
